"Ballmer says the company in 2006 had “its best recruiting year ever.” But he also acknowledged that it faces stiff competition for talent from Google (GOOG).
Ballmer says Microsoft looks for people with two characteristics: “very bright” and “very intense.”
Bill Gates, he says, “is the smartest guy I’ve ever met.”
On the reaction he received to dropping out of business school: “My dad thought it was nuts.”
Ballmer took a few digs at Google. “Google has one very good business.” But he also admitted that Google got to $10 billion in revenue faster than Microsoft did. "
