Mitch Lasky Leaves Electronic Arts Mobile To Become A Venture Capitalist At Benchmark Capital

"Mitch Lasky, the former CEO of Jamdat Mobile, is leaving Electronic Arts to become a general partner at venture capital firm Benchmark Capital. Lasky helped grow Jamdat from a startup in Los Angeles to the world’s biggest publisher of cell phone games. EA bought Jamdat a year ago for $680 million in cash last year.
The move is a loss for EA, but Lasky said that he had a “positive experience” working for EA in the past year. He said that he is glad that John Riccitiello is coming in as the new CEO at EA. But he said that he the EA experience convinced him that his passion was to work with entrepreneurs. Now he’ll be handing out cash to startups."
