iSuppli - Rips Apart the 3GS. "iPhone Inside"

From iSuppli - "A "teardown analysis" conducted by market research firm iSuppli has concluded that it costs Apple U.S. $179.86 to produce a 16GB version of the iPhone 3G S. The teardown team says the total is comprised of $172.46 worth of materials and $6.50 in manufacturing costs.

The cost is just slightly higher than the $173 iSuppli estimated the 8GB iPhone 3G cost to manufacture when it first came out last June and about 20% less than what the company estimated it cost to build the first generation iPhone."
