Shasta Ventures Names Managing Director, hires Associate...where did Zuckerberg's brother in law go?

Comments from Techcrunch about Shasta's sr associate:

I’ve met Evan Liang a few times over the last 2 years. Evan is clueless and doesn’t belong to the VC world. He was an average eBay PM and now thinks he’s the hot sh*t because he’s part of the Sand Hill gang. I trust he’ll be among the first to go once Shasta tightens up the belt. I have no mercy for him.

I’ve personally known Evan for 4 years, and I can assure you he’s humble, intelligent, kind, and hard-working. In fact, I’m sure he doesn’t categorize himself as part of any “Sand Hill gang”. I wouldn’t typically respond to an incendiary, nonsensical comment, but Evan is too nice a guy and too knowledgeable about technology to let a comment like this go.

some commentary from the funde:d

Met everyone on the team but spent the most time with Rob. Went about as far as you can go without getting the deal done. Overall, took too long to get through all the meetings, etc., so we took $ from other sources. However, I would recommend these guys highly. We pitched a lot of VCs and had a competitive process. Of the VCs we pitched, these guys did the best with:
-Understanding the product, market and business model, and speaking to reasonable extensions of the business.
-Willing to engage early and continue the process until a deal could make sense for them.
-Being open-minded with terms required by founders.
