MercuryNews.com | Crying rockstar video gamer, Chris Taylor

"Chris Taylor is a rock star in the video game industry. His previous games, ``Total Annihilation'' and ``Dungeon Seige,'' have sold millions of copies. And yet on his newest game, ``Supreme Commander,'' the chief of Gas Powered Games struggled to find a publisher.
When Taylor first began pitching it four years ago, every publisher in the industry turned him down because the strategy game for the personal computer wasn't a sequel and it was so technologically ambitious. He found a publisher in Electronic Arts, but it canceled the game after a year. THQ, based in Agoura Hills, finally picked it up and published it in February. As Taylor was finishing up four years of work on the game in December, he broke down in his office and cried."
