"It took me a while to really understand this, but Sling Media announced something at the CBS keynote a little a while ago with profound implications for a variety of players in online video. Basically, Sling announced this thing called Clip and Sling, which is incredibly powerful. People watching TV via the SlingPlayer software used with a Sling Box - a device which lets you remotely watch TV from any source in your house that is connected to the Internet - will be able to capture, edit and then send to others a snippet of any program on television. The snippet is uploaded to a Web site; the person you are sending the clip to gets notification of a URL to visit, so they don’t need to have the Box. Nice, but hang on; there is a lot more to this."
