WSJ.com - Glu Mobile Buys Game Publisher iFone

"Glu Mobile Inc., continuing a wave of consolidation in the mobile games industry, has acquired iFone Ltd., one of the leading publishers of games for cellphones in the U.K.
Terms of the deal between the two closely-held companies weren't disclosed. As part of the deal Glu Mobile of San Mateo, Calif., will acquire global distribution rights for iFone's top-selling titles including Monopoly, Lemmings and Atari classics. The company will also acquire European distribution rights for mobile games based on Sega Corp.'s Sonic the Hedgehog.
Greg Ballard, CEO of Glu, said the acquisition of iFone of Manchester, U.K., will allow Glu to strengthen its footing in Europe at a time when wireless carriers increasingly want to deal with large distributors of mobile content, rather than the thicket of smaller game makers that have populated startup-heavy mobile market."
