Mass High Tech: BladeLogic continues growth, moves toward IPO - 2006-04-17

"The data center software business has changed plenty in the last decade, and Waltham's BladeLogic Inc. has ridden those changes to rapid growth and an expected initial public offering.
Chief Executive Dev Ittycheria said that in the past businesses would operate a maximum of 100 servers and update them a couple of times a quarter. These days, the same businesses are operating more than a thousand servers and updating them daily or weekly.
The shift has fueled growth for data center management companies such as BladeLogic, which now plans to leverage that growth by becoming publicly traded -- but not without careful consideration, Ittycheria said. "

"But BladeLogic, which reports a compound annual growth rate of 250 percent since being founded in 2001, is ready and able to make the move from being privately held, Ittycheria said, though he declined to provide specific revenue figures."
