PathScale to be acquired by QLogic for $109M: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance

"QLogic Corp. said on Wednesday that it has agreed to buy PathScale Inc. for $109 million in cash plus the assumption of oustanding unvested stock options.
QLogic (Nasdaq: QLGC - News) is based in Aliso Viejo. The company supplies Fibre Channel host bus adapters, blader server embedded Fibre Channel switches and Fibre Channel stackable switches for storage area networks. The company's products are used by firms like Cisco Systems Inc., Dell Inc., Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems.
PathScale is headquartered in Mountain View. The company develops technologies that enable breakthroughs in high-performance computing, science and engineering.
The acquisition is expected to be completed in April.
