ContentSutra :: Mauj To Get Funding From WestBridge Capital, Intel And Sequoia Capital

"ContentSutra Exclusive: We hear from our sources that Mumbai-based mobile content company Mauj Mobile is all set to get funding from three VCs. They include WestBridge Capital Partners, Intel Capital and Sequoia Capital. The amount of investment is not clear which we hope to get in the next few days. An announcement is likely very soon.

It's interesting to note that WestBridge has already invested in Nazara, another Mumbai-based mobile content company (we had reported this first). So they have two companies in the same space in their portfolio. This is the second VC deal in the Indian mobile content space. And WestBridge is involved in both.

MAUJ is the wireless division of the People Group, which is also involved in Internet businesses (Shaadi.com, Fropper.com) and Film Production (People Pictures). The company was founded by Anupam Mittal in 1997. "
