McDonald's to launch Nintendo WiFi hotspots

McDonald's to launch Nintendo WiFi hotspots

Nintendo and Wayport have teamed up to offer free WiFi hotspots for Nintendo DS gamers in McDonald's restaurants across the US. Nintendo will launch a complimentary WiFi service called Wi-Fi Connection. WiFi solutions provider Wayport plans to add 1,000 WiFi-enabled McDonald's by June to its existing 6,000 WiFi-enabled locations. McDonald's currently charges laptop users for access to its WiFi services, but the Nintendo arrangement will permit Nintendo DS users to play without a laptop or a fee. Together at last: fast food and video games.
