Broadcom buys Athena Semi in Wi-Fi push

"Broadcom Corp. said Thursday it plans to acquire Athena Semiconductor, a deal that may bolster its chip offerings for mobile television devices and Wi-Fi enabled consumer gadgets. BRCM intends to pay $21.6 million in cash for the privately held firm that designs low-power Wi-Fi chips and mobile TV tuner chips for cell phones. "
