"Previously jobster was just a service for employer to reach out to candidates, now we're going the other direction and enabling candidates to leverage their social networks to gain referrals to leading employers. We'll be doing a formal launch of this to the media mid-week"
Jobster has raised roughly $30M to date with backers that include Ignition Partners, Mayfield, Trinity. The last $19.5M round announced a couple weeks ago was entertained by multiple offers according to John at the Seattle Post. Jobster's customers include Boston Scientific, Cisco, Cosi, Google, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Nordstrom, Samsung Telecommunications, Boeing, and Expedia. Company faces stiff competition from the likes of traditional online job sites: Monster, Careerbuilder, Hotjobs, and social networking/job bulletin type sites: LinkedIn, Craigslist, Tribe, H3.com, Indeed.com, Accolo, Simpyhired.com.
Stay tuned - it will certainly be interesting to see how the space plays out.
