Sirf Buys Motorola GPS Chip Sets

"Sirf Technology Holdings Inc., a maker of tracking and navigational technology used in semiconductor chips, said Thursday that it purchased a complementary line of Motorola Inc. chips for $20 million."

"The acquired Motorola chips use the same global positioning system, or GPS, data that Sirf depends on for its products. Sirf said it plans to integrate Motorola's products into its portfolio, including a chip used in cellular phones and public safety two-way radios."
