Teneros lands $17.5M up round

"Teneros Inc., a developer of hardware and software e-mail appliances for Microsoft Corp. products, has landed $17.5 million in Series B funding from new lead investor Star Ventures of Munich and existing investors New Enterprise Associates of Baltimore and Sevin Rosen Funds of Dallas. "

"Steve Lewis, co-founder and CEO of Teneros, said the startup received a $7 million Series A round of funding less than a year ago, in July 2004, after turning away several potential investors. "We actually completed the Series B without a lot of effort," he said. "This was not a difficult fundraising exercise."
