Peerflix
"Menlo Park, Calif.-based Peerflix Inc. has landed its first round of venture financing. 3i Group plc’s office in Menlo Park, Calif., and BV Capital of San Francisco co-led the round. Founded in 2004, Peerflix is an online peer-to-peer service that allows members to legally trade DVDs. The money will be used to accelerate member acquisition, scale the company’s infrastructure and develop new product offerings and enhancements. As a result of the funding, Robin Murray, partner with 3i, and Thomas Gieselmann, general partner with BV Capital, will join the board of directors. Peerflix, which also has an office in Vancouver, British Columbia, currently offers its services in the U.S. and Canada."
