Mirra hires new CEO and CFO

This announcement doesn't sound like the company is doing well. Mirra has positioned these new hires as "enhancing team leadership and preparing for the next phase of growth".

The Mirra product is marginally better than other current products in the space -- Maxtor One Touch -- and sells at a much higher price point.

Hope you don't mind a comment from a Mirra insider. Our board of director's decision to invest in new talent for the executive team shows that things are going very right with Mirra, not the opposite. Over the past four months, the company has invested in a lot of new talent to help Mirra transition from the early start-up stage to the next stage of growth.

Also, comparing a Mirra Personal Server to a Maxtor One-Touch is an apples & oranges comparison. Yes, you can backup one computer with a hard drive like the excellent Maxtor products. But with Mirra, you can continuously backup ALL the PCs on your network, plus provide Web remote access, easy secure sharing of Mirra content to others, undelete/overwrite protection, a data guarantee, and lots more. Comparing a "dumb" hard drive to a backup server with free web services just isn't correct.

Of course, for those who only want a backup of one computer and don't care about web access or sharing, then a hard drive is the right decision. But for those who want more, then Mirra is really great.

Thanks for listening,

Peter Radsliff

I have used Mirra now for several months and overall it is a pretty good product. I have backed up 3 of my personal computers on it. One of the best features is to be able to get on their website and have access to the server at my house of all the files backed up on it.

I just noticed that Mirra dropped their price to $249 and $299 for 80 GB and 120GB respectively.

That's quite a price drop. I think it's time to upgrade to Mirra. Do you have a link for those price points b/c I haven't seen those prices anywhere.
