Composite Software Gets $4.5M Equity Infusion In Deal With Cognos

Data integration start-up Composite Software has received a $4.5 million minority investment from
Cognos, a publicly traded business intelligence software company.Composite has raised $17.35 million, not including the investment from Cognos, over two funding rounds. The firm secured its most recent investment, a $12.1 million Series B round of funding, in late 2003. Investors include Lehman Brothers, Palomar Ventures, Apax Partners, Clearstone Venture Partners and Dot Edu Ventures.

Green said that Composite still has a considerable amount of Series B funding in the bank and will not be
seeking out new funding for a very long time. He did not say what revenue growth over the past year was or whether the company is profitable.
