The so-called Elite reviewers are the worst; most are a bunch of self-centered, immature 20-somethings who drink Yelp's koolaid to get freebies, swag, free drinks, etc. Not only do they defame businesses, but they also malign individuals posting on the site. I myself contributed a great deal to the site, but after witnessing Yelp's unethical practices firsthand and having numerous Yelp sycophants attack my character and reputation, I left. Communication with Stoppelmann was useless as he feigns either ignorance of what is going on or pays lip service to serious issues. Too bad he is conducting business this way because Yelp's original concept was a good one.

It is good to see Stoppelmann and Yelp being exposed for who and what they really are. For example, a fish and chips place I like had a number of negative reviews all posted on the same day. Retaliation on the place for not buying Yelp protection? When I examined other comments posted by certain negative reviewers I discovered systematic actions; each tended to all post negatives in batches on certain days against a variety of businesses. For example, one slammed eight businesses in one quick batch one day. Seven another day. The grouping of all the neg reviews seemed very organized and systematic, I smell extortion.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9496484.post-63745410952779131052009-03-29T21:44:00.000-07:002009-03-29T21:44:00.000-07:00Agree. Without detailed explanations from both parties, how can any review be considered legitimate?

Second, reviewers (like journalists) simply should not be anonymous. The anonymity of Internet commenting is a nasty, thorny problem that Yelp obviously has not solved with their "filters."Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13915546904368549945noreply@blogger.com
