Atheros reported to acquire Taiwan-based WLAN chipmaker ZyDAS

"WLAN solution provider Atheros Communications has entered into an agreement to acquire Taiwan-based WLAN chipmaker ZyDAS Technology, a 70%-owned subsidiary of Zyxel Communications, the Chinese language Commercial Times reported today, citing market sources. However, Atheros Taiwan and Zyxel both denied the report.
ZyDAS was the second largest maker of USB-based integrated baseband/MAC chips in Taiwan in 2005, shipping a total of 7.2 million units for the year, according to a previous report."
