"Airwide Solutions Inc., formerly known as Taral Networks Inc., has landed $25 million in Series D funding. The new round was led by a new investor, Advent International, with participation from existing investors Artiman Ventures, Axiom Venture Partners, Key Venture Partners, and Kodiak Venture Partners.
Airwide plans to use the investment to continue development of its core messaging, mobile security, and device management products. The company also intends to expand its geographical reach, including its expansion of its recently announced operation in India, according to company officials.
Airwide, now based in London, was founded as Taral Networks in 2000 by its current chief scientist, Jiwei Wang, and its current chief technology officer, Vincent Kadar. In 2004, the then Lexington-based company acquired U.K.-based Schlumberger Messaging Solutions, changed its name to Airwide Solutions and moved its headquarters to London. The company still maintains a facility in Burlington.
Airwide makes mobile infrastructure software for carriers, and claims more than 70 customers in 46 countries, according to officials."
